Uber for Business now automatically expenses taxis in 45 countries

The nice thing about traveling for work is that you can hop in a taxi without worrying about the cost since, after all, you're not picking up the tab. The downside of that privilege is that, about a week or two after that, you'll have to sit down and tediously justify your expenditure to your boss. That's not a problem, however, if your company has signed up with Uber for Business, which sends the bills straight to the firm instead of piling on your own credit card. Until now, however, that service was only available in the US and Canada, with a few trials taking place in the UK and France. As you might have guessed from the headline, today's the day that the company opens up Uber for Business to all of the 45 countries in which it operates. Now all we have to do is work out if we can pretend that our hand slipped and we hit the Uber Lux button by mistake.

Sony is getting out of the e-reader business

Sony Holds News Conference On New E-Reader Service

Sony announced the closure of its own Reader store in favor of Kobo's platform earlier this year, and now it seems the company is nixing e-readers entirely. BBC reports that the Japanese outfit doesn't plan to release another device with last year's PRS-T3 serving as the most recent option. Thanks to Amazon's Kindle lineup and a growing number of tablet options, dedicated reading slates have seen declining sales since 2011.

Dropbox

Dropbox for business is good for working together on files stored in the cloud, but it had not fine-grained permission control--not great if you have a sensitive project you'd rather not share with the people in debtors. You'll be pleased to hear, then, that Dropbox is the introduction of some much needed access limitations. Now you can say which of your colleagues can edit or view a particular file, you can set expiration dates and both passwords for shared links. In other words, get contractors not to look at that report large company as soon as their work is done. The new tricks are available via Dropbox for Business ' early access program today, and there are promises of more features within a few months; She gets the ability to search for text in files, work on Office documents with others and see that the same content on Android.
