Amazing Phone - Best I've Ever Held
March 27, 2014 First Time HTC Owner
From:Indiana, USA Age: 17 or under
Gender: Male Smartphone
Experience: Intermediate Camera 4 / 54 / 5 Sound Quality 5 / 55 / 5 Screen 5 / 55 / 5 Ease Of Use 5 / 55 / 5 Battery Life 3 / 53 / 5 Look And Feel 5 / 55 / 5 The HTC One M8 just came out, and so I've only used it for a day and a half, but I would highly recommend it to others. It's the first smartphone I've owned, but I've had plenty of experience with others' phones and tablets, and was just waiting for my coming of age. With that, let's get into the review. Display The display on the HTC One M8 is amazing. Like, absolutely stunning. The 1080p panel is durable, bright, and vivid. All around, there's no way I can possibly complain. Speed This phone just flies. Through everything. Like, there was no way I could do anything that could cause this phone to stutter. The Snapdragon 801 inside does its job well. Sound Yes. Like, seriously, these are great. They get really loud at max volume (loud enough to make my friends yell at me to turn it down), and they sound really clear. The only thing they're lacking is the deep bass impact that bigger speakers can have, but seeing as this phone is about an eighth of the size of most speakers with good bass, they're impressive. Additionally, plugging in a headset sounds great thanks to the BoomSound feature. Conncectivity I get 4G everywhere around my house so far as I can tell, and it's usually even faster than my home WiFi, so that's a plus. Loading videos on YouTube takes a couple seconds, but that's to be expected. Twitter and Chrome run insanely fast, like faster than I ever imagined. The Bluetooth also works well - it's simple and easy to connect, like it should be. Design The design of this phone is just spectacular. Probably the best part about this phone - it's durable, easy to hold, and just makes me want to pick it up and play with it. Like, I just want to hold it. I probably spent an hour just turning it on with the double tap motion gesture, which I'm a huge fan of. Camera From what I've seen, the camera is pretty solid. It's not the sharpest camera I've ever seen, but it definitely does a very good job of capturing as much light as possible: the Ultra pixel seems to work here. I still wish images would be sharper with more detail, but it's really impressive for a 4 megapixel camera. The front-facing camera on the other hand, is stunning. Probably the best selfies I've ever seen from a smartphone camera, and the camera app runs really well and is easy to use. Battery This is the only thing that I think actually needs to be improved. I don't doubt it would last a whole a day of normal use, and maybe even heavy use, but the battery still seems to run down fast enough that it worries me sometimes. It's usable, but I would love for it to last longer. Considering the performance though, it's definitely impressive. Conclusion This phone is amazing. Granted, I'm coming off of a 4 year old Verizon EnV3, that still flips open, but absolutely love this phone. I would absolutely recommend this phone to absolutely anybody. Lots of people say they think it's too big, but I think it's just the right size, blazing fast, and beautiful. Yes, I recommend this product.
