With Call of Duty being one of the most successful game franchises out there, you know there's always going to be a next one. Well, the first trailer for that game has dropped, revealing its full title of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Kevin Spacey. The House of Cards actor appears to be cast in the role of a powerful, politically driven antihero (how original), but what we're more interested in is the little hints of new and changing gameplay elements. Just as CoD 4: Modern Warfare brought the series out of the WWII era, Advanced Warfare will send us further into the future, as the presence of spider tanks, hover bikes, the 'copters from Avatar and weaponized exoskeletons suggests.

The trailer shows super jumping too many times for it not to be one of the new mechanics, which we assume will be joined by cloaking and a perk that lets you see through walls -- it looks something like the Active Radar Pulse from Titanfall in the fleeting clip, if you've been playing any of that recently. There's also soldiers shown scaling walls with special gloves and unravelling a section of plantable cover, but as the whole trailer is shot cut-scene style, there's no telling what gameplay elements you will actually be able to use, and whether they'll be single-player or multiplayer only.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is being developed by Activision and Sledgehammer Games, a lesser-known studio that had a hand in creating Modern Warfare 3. This trailer footage comes from an Xbox One, but you can bet Advanced Warfare will also come to the PS4 and PCs, at the very least. With the hype train now rolling, you can bet we'll be hearing a lot more about the game before its release date of November 4th this year. Trailer below the fold.

You can now stream WWE Network wrestling on your Xbox One

We already knew WWE was bringing live-streaming of its wrestling matches to the Xbox One (and pretty much every other device you might have in your living room). For whatever reason, though, streaming wasn't actually available on the Xbox One back in February, when WWE first made the announcement. In any case, better late than never, right? The company just issued a press release letting us know it's finally opened up shop on Microsoft's new console. As promised, the service costs $10 a month with a six-month commitment, and brings access to live events, as well as videos on demand (think: classics). That's a small price to pay to watch Hulk Hogan body slam Andre the Giant over and over again.

If you've invested in Sky's super-cheap Now TV box, the chances are that you've also been enjoying the company's introductory pricing it offers on its streaming packages. Sky's entertainment and movie bundles are currently priced at £4.99 and £8.99 per month respectively, but are set to rise to £6.99 and £9.99 later this month. At first glance, it looks like the broadcaster has chosen the optimum time to recoup some of the investment its made in exclusivity for shows like Game of Thrones, but the reality is a little less scandalous.

Prices were actually meant to shoot up in March, but Sky decided at the time to extend the introductory offers until May 29th. So while it appears like the Lannisters are after yet more coin ahead of the cut-off in the coming weeks, it was actually the plan all along. It's probably not the news you were hoping for as you wait to see whether Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons can conquer the seven kingdoms, but the Now TV honeymoon period originally had an earlier deadline, so you've still had better luck than Ned and family.

Update: Since the time of writing, Sky has decided to put the price hike on hold, for now at least. The note on Sky's Now TV forums doesn't offer any new timeline, but we assume it means you'll be seeing out the current series of Game of Thrones, and watching all your favourite characters die, no doubt, at the current monthly rate.

Google Chromecast

You can stream seemingly anything to your TV using a Chromecast, but tracking down the software you need can be time-consuming -- and it frequently won't pull media from other devices on your network. It's a good thing that Videostream has released its namesake Chrome add-on, then. The extension lets you stream almost any locally stored video through Google's media stick, regardless of type. It'll also play videos from networked PCs and drives. There's an Android remote control if you'd rather not leave the couch, and the future should bring an iOS remote, media playlists and hardware support beyond the Chromecast. Videostream isn't as elegant as a software portal like Plex, but it could be handy for that occasional obscurely formatted clip that you absolutely have to watch on a big screen. 0 Comments Share

Cox Communications parade float

In case there was any doubt that gigabit internet access is spreading like wildfire in the US, Cox has revealed plans to introduce an ultra-fast service of its own. The cable provider tells Bloomberg that it hopes to have 1Gbps speeds available by the end of the year, with news of the initial markets coming in the next two to three weeks. CEO Pat Esser notes that gigabit has been on the cards for a long time, but admits that news from rivals like AT&T and Google tipped Cox's hand -- the company wants to let its customers know that they won't be left in the slow lane.

The news will no doubt cheer customers who otherwise wouldn't get speedy data, but pricing and coverage haven't been announced so far; it's too early to tell if gigabit access will be within your reach. While AT&T and Google both price their service aggressively at around $70, cable providers like Comcast can charge $300 per month for a 300Mbps connection. That's not exactly accessible, and there's no certainty that Cox will undercut those rates. The firm will also have to deploy service quickly if it wants the new offering to be seen as more than an experiment.

Quietly mentioned inside Sky's financial report for this quarter, the broadcaster has revealed that two of its streaming services will arrive on the PlayStation 4 in just a few months. Details are scant (it just says what we've written above), but both Sky Go (for existing Sky subscribers) and the more free-and-loose Now TV will both debut on the Sony console. They'll have a fight on their hands: they'll be up against the likes of Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. Sky also announced that it's renewed its movie deal with Paramount, giving it exclusive broadcast rights to the likes of Anchorman 2 and Noah. So, not even a mention of the Xbox One -- but at least that console's doing its own thing.

Update: Sky has issued a fuller press release which also mentions that Sky Go will find its way to PS3 owners (who've so far only had access to Now TV on their consoles).
